ATEX explosion-proof rating
The Motorola XPR7550 digital explosion-proof intercom, including battery and audio accessories, has obtained the highest level of ATEX explosion-proof rating, making it an ideal choice for your work in noisy environments, extended overtime, adverse weather conditions, and hazardous settings, including environments with flammable dust, explosive chemicals, gas leaks, flammable hydrocarbons, and more.
ATEX dust protection
II: Group II, other environments (chemical industry, smelting plants, etc.);
2D: High protection for Category 2 equipment in Zones 21 and 22. D=dust;
Ex: Explosion-proof equipment, certified by European ATEX and IECEx;
IIIC: The enclosure obtains IP Rating industrial dustproof Zone 21 certification;
T130°C: Maximum temperature on the enclosure surface.

ATEX gas protection
II: Group II, other environments;
2D: High protection for Category 2 equipment in Zones 21 and 22; G = Gas
Ex: Explosion-proof equipment, certified by European ATEX and IECEx;
ib: Ignition protection type (Zones 182);
IIC: Protection for the most explosive environment (hydrogen);
T4: The surface temperature of the equipment must not exceed 135°C.
ATEX mining explosion-proof
I: Group I;
M2: This category of equipment is designed for use in underground mines and surface installations of such mines, where the environment is potentially hazardous due to methane and combustible dust;
Ex: explosion-proof equipment
ib: ignition protection type (Zones 182);
I: explosion group, I=methane.

Easy to operate
The Motorola XPR7550 features large PTT, volume, channel knobs, and programmable buttons, making it easy to use even with gloves on. The large color screen and bright LED display clearly show the radio status information, coupled with the prominent orange emergency button, enabling workers to quickly seek assistance when needed.
Performance
IP base station interconnection utilizes the Internet to cover employees anywhere in the world, and the scalable single base station cluster (Capacity plus) extends the channel capacity to accommodate over 1,000 users. The multi-base station cluster (linked capacity plus) combines intelligent channel sharing with high-density user call management and the wide coverage of IP base station interconnection, enabling cost-effective and efficient connection of workers in different locations.
XPR7550 complies with ETSI DMR standards, providing integrated voice and data, as well as clearer voice communication. Its battery life is 40% longer than that of analog walkie-talkies.
The built-in GPS receiver enables location tracking, allowing you to share information or locate employees all from a single device.

Q1:
Can XPR7550 be used in any explosive environment?
A1:
No! Although XPR7550 can cover almost 95% of industrial explosion-proof needs (in the petroleum, chemical, fire protection, pharmaceutical industries, etc.), it is still limited in environments where explosive gases continuously occur and persist for extended periods (such as inside oil tanks and reaction vessels) or where gases with extremely low ignition temperatures exist, such as sulfur dioxide.
Q2:
Under what circumstances will explosion-proof failure occur?
A2:
1. Non-original batteries were used;
2. Disassembly with the battery charged, and it is strictly prohibited to disassemble the battery or replace accessories (such as headphones) in explosive environments;
3. Mismatch of accessories, and only certified explosion-proof headphones or microphones must be used;
4. Damaged casing, if the machine casing has cracks, its intrinsically safe structure may be damaged, and it can no longer be brought into explosion-proof areas.
